Difference between Gerrard and Emery has been night and day, also their recruitment has been superb (bar Tielemans).

Tielemans has had his moments, plus he came on a free.

Definitely last season. Unai was picking up about 2 points per game with Gerrard's squad.

Villa were very close to going down a bad path but they realised that Christian Purslow who wanted to bring in his favourite Liverpool players was the problem and got rid accordingly.

We'll take that Tielemans right off your hands, don't worry

Hopefully Tielemans has turned a corner, he came on and set up Bailey's goal yesterday.

Yeah I mean his ability was never the issue, but his workrate and stamina.

Hardest thing to build. IIRC Kovacic had similar issues when he came to Chelsea from Real.

Took few seasons for him to stand on his knees upto 75mins mark.

Difference is Tielemans has been in the prem for years and is actively regressing in that regard

[–] Forgetmyglasses@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Playing at the highest level for so long probably fucks your knees and joints up as well.

Kovavic -> Barkley

Barkley -> Kovacic

Every 70th minute. We remember

It's OK, Gerrard has found his managerial level now.
