Red scare still happening to this day, censor everything for the protection of our great capitalism!
What if I hate capitalism and authoritarianism?
Feel free to check out social democracy - it's socialism except that it has actually worked great on numerous occasions.
Social democracy is still a capitalist ideology though, not the best recommendation to someone who said hates capitalism. I'd recommend Anarchism or Post-Marxism
Only insofar as capitalism is the midpoint between feudalism and socialism. Democratic socialists are for allowing the majority to set the pace for moving towards that ideal so as to minimise societal disruption through rapid change.
