Why would I need to wash "prewashed" flax linen quilt covers and pillow cases?

Well I bought it online so not an issue.

You don't have to wash them, you can do whatever you want. What did you get? There hasn't been a good flax linen conversation in a while. My sheet society sheets were better than the Southland ones, but I wouldn't buy either again.
