Ooh I forgot about ardour. Last time I tried it pulseaudio was a baby still

In case you have Pipewire, you can use that instead of having to set up JACK, too. There was a recent release which allows Pipewire to be on par with JACK when it comes to latency.

Edit: Or maybe don't update yet. There are a few left-over issues with the Pro Audio profiles.

I'm currently on pipewire with distro default config on all of my audio enabled systems. It's been great for all my current use cases but I'll see when I get around to trying this out.
