When all the nefarious people encouraging this abuse die off.

You'll notice that they don't exist in the future world of Idiocracy. That's because it's a fictional world, with a very basic premise only vaguely related to reality.

The problem isn't that people are dumb, it's that the people in power want to keep people dumb. Without that, it's not like we'll continue to devolve into helpless infantile people with no ability to think for ourselves.
