Of course they did. They also speculated about the utility of using Stalin against the Axis. These things are common in global politics.

Ah, in 1922. That makes more sense. Cozied up to a few of them post-war I suppose, the ones that didn't hang anyway.

Blowhard thing to say not even going to bother with it

A few of them lol? For starters this is a very common meme have you not seen it? Doesn't even get into staffing the entire govt of West Germany with Nazis. Tip of the iceberg. Don't just bluff your way through history

[–] Carrolade@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Blowhard or not, it's completely true.

No, I don't find memes on social media to be healthy sources of information. Fine for light-hearted entertainment, but usually more propagandistic than educational when they try to be serious. Real history is entirely too complex for anything worthwhile to be conveyed with simple factoids.

[–] tastemyglaive@lemmy.ml 0 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Well it's a very complex issue for you, I'm sure, but have you considered Googling their names?

[–] Carrolade@lemmy.world 0 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I wasn't saying I was unfamiliar with all the people, you may recall from just a couple comments ago that I agreed there was collaboration with some people that were not hung.

You asked if I'd seen the meme. I answered truthfully, no, and I told you why. I think you're more interested in trolling than giving any fucks though, judging from your tone.

It's actually hilarious that there are still people out there who think the Nuremburg Trials were effectively the end of the fascist international. Was hardly even the beginning. You act like being hung was not an exception for the perpetrators of the Holocaust

I don't think there are many people that believe that, actually. I did not act that way at all, you just want to paint me that way, the reason for which should be fairly obvious.

edit for wording

some people that were not hung

Aw gee just a handful slipped through what the heck

[–] Carrolade@lemmy.world 0 points 1 week ago

No, not a handful, the Nazi Party was very large after all. Only a small percentage of them were hung. Libs generally aren't favorable towards extermination.
