That's right, then the lemmy specialists came and hated on me. No source were given, except one, which after checking was a study with low sample size which said that there were small, but non zero, inequalities between cis and trans athletes on a couple of sports, when subject to those sports' rules, while there is no clear consensus on if hormonal treatments are required and the minimum level of testosterone, which can be part of a debate
Apart from that, nothing. So clearly, saying there is equality is misinformation, but saying there is might also be with our current knowledge.
I did my own research. There is no consensus, and anyone saying that there is is lying. However, we do know that having male puberty will make definitive changes to the muscular and bones structure and as such create at least a little inequality, which is ground for debates on the subject. That was my starting point on the subject: the debate is valid and isn't transphobia nor misinformation.
The wrong I potentially agree is saying "biological men" as a mean to refer to cisgender men, instead of using the word "cisgender men". I obviously only used this word in a scientifical context to underline the biological aspect, not as a mean of dogwhistle, but of course if people are against me they will jump on the smallest of things to call me out, even though I wouldn't have used this word in another context. Lessons learned, "cisgender" is also used in science now, so let's not give opponents ammo, and I apologise for this.
I will say it again, but if you're hurt by the fact that there can be a debate on equality between cisgender and transgender athletes, then yes, it's your fault and I don't care, because you're not hurt based on hate speech, but you're hurt because someone has different opinions than you. It's not because you're a minority that you should get a lot of exceptions if that is not fair. There can be a debate and silencing it this way is just manipulation. Passing this as transphobia is deceptive.
I strongly believe freedom and transparency should be over security. I have enough of the censoring, auto filtering of messages, manual approvals and believe they do a lot more harm than good. Perfect examples of that is what many governments try to do with the analysis of all of our private messages, phone and computer contents and media... You're just painting me as a weirdo
This is purely based on your emotions and opinions. I did not misinform or act in bad faith.
Jumping in here from the sideline: Just because you have an opinion doesn't mean that it's unreasonable to feel hurt by that opinion. Also that opinion doesn't necessarily mean there is a debate to be had. That opinion can also be transphobic, which would explain both the hurt and the nondiscussion of that idea.
Also I have a hard time following your thoughts here:
A) I am pretty sure you mean safety and not security. Having the ability to post or not to post has very little to do with security and might have something to do with the safety of readers, instance maintainers and most importantly, the victims of the csam.
B) equaling moderation on a community to state sanctioned censorship is always a big red flag. Let communities choose their own rules. No community should be forced to accept every post from everyone. You do not have the given right to post to every community just because you want a big audience. You have the right to make your own community and build your audience.
C) neither moderation nor censorship are relared to the government monitoring your private messages. That is an important topic that should be discussed widely and be called attention to. But it's wildy unrelated.
