This community is about cars, their externalities in society, car-dependency, and solutions to these.

In other countries we just build car-free neighborhoods instead. Street parking is forbidden and driving is only allowed for deliveries and only in walking speed. Build such a neighbourhood around a subway station and a convenience store and people without cars will come. No one wants to own a car if the next parking spot is further away than the train station.
But if my street is open for everyone else to drive through, of course I'll demand a car for myself as well.
