“One of the beauties of that and that I see in Matt Shakman is Sam always went back to the source material and said, ‘there's a reason why Peter Parker and Spider-Man has been so popular for so long,’ and we have nothing to do with that 50 plus years at that time. And Matt always looked at it the same way. There's a reason this IP has been popular for 60 years. Let’s embrace it. Let's not run from it. Let's challenge our screenwriters to tell the coolest Galactus story.”

This might be the exception though.

So far, none of the previous movies were smart enough to go right into a proper FF story without having to dick around with an origin section.

Since part of this movie is also bringing the FF into the MCU as much as it is telling an FF story, if they do it right, it could be exactly the right way to do both.

Leading off with Galactus, you get to see the FF at their best, while also showing their limits. If it was only going to be a series of FF movies, that would suck. But as they weave in and out of future MCU arcs, the chances of seeing this kind of story would go down. So having it be the first FF MCU movie may be awesome.

You could be right. I am looking forward to it.
