Moderator Guidelines
Moderator Guidelines
- Don’t be mean to users. Be gentle or neutral.
- Most moderator actions which have a modlog message should include your username.
- When in doubt about whether or not a user is problematic, send them a DM.
- Don’t waste time debating/arguing with problematic users.
- Assume the best, but don’t tolerate sealioning/just asking questions/concern trolling.
- Ask another mod to take over cases you struggle with, if you get tired, or when things get personal.
- Ask the other mods for advice when things get complicated.
- Share everything you do in the mod matrix, both so several mods aren't unknowingly handling the same issues, but also so you can receive feedback on what you intend to do.
- Don't rush mod actions. If a case doesn't need to be handled right away, consider taking a short break before getting to it. This is to say, cool down and make room for feedback.
- Don’t perform too much moderation in the comments, except if you want a verdict to be public or to ask people to dial a convo down/stop. Single comment warnings are okay.
- Send users concise DMs about verdicts about them, such as bans etc, except in cases where it is clear we don’t want them at all, such as obvious transphobes. No need to notify someone they haven’t been banned of course.
- Explain to a user why their behavior is problematic and how it is distressing others rather than engage with whatever they are saying. Ask them to avoid this in the future and send them packing if they do not comply.
- First warn users, then temp ban them, then finally perma ban them when they break the rules or act inappropriately. Skip steps if necessary.
- Use neutral statements like “this statement can be considered transphobic” rather than “you are being transphobic”.
- No large decisions or actions without community input (polls or meta posts f.ex.).
- Large internal decisions (such as ousting a mod) might require a vote, needing more than 50% of the votes to pass. Also consider asking the community for feedback.
- Remember you are a voluntary moderator. You don’t get paid. Take a break when you need one. Perhaps ask another moderator to step in if necessary.

Elong is def more Drake coded, even if Trump is no Kendrick. Trump is far more powerful and competent than the Elongated Muskrat will ever be, so Musquito will probably be made an example of.
it's nice to imagine musk as incompetent but he did manage to become the richest person in the world, i dont think that happens by accident. although we see through him plenty of people do not, and if those people themselves are powerful then it doesn't in the end much matter what we think
You're getting downvoted because it's the inconvenient truth- he's obviously a selfish and petulant man-baby, and he could be so much worse, but we're seeing what even a barely functioning level of competence can do with unlimited means.
TIL being born on third base of an emerald mine with a diamond encrusted silver spoon up your ass counts as "competence."
he made up the emerald mine to sound cool, he is way more pathetic than that, he just lucked into money with paypal really. anyway i'm not claiming he's actually smart or anything, but not every grifter succeeds grifting this much
Is that so?
(X)
those links basically say exactly what i said lol
"He denies it. He's not beating the allegations."
Oh. You believe Elon. Copy.
ETA: this.
Musk is good at scamming the government. He also started with lots and got lucky. His dad was the competent evil one.
There are studies that prove being too wealthy rots your brain. Plus the incredibly reckless drug abuse. So even if he was competent before, you can count on that being diminished. The threshold for that is actually shockingly low; in the low 6 figures 2010s usd.
What are those studies?
A big researcher in the field is paul piff. Thats a starting point.
yes, i agree with all that. but lots of people, maybe millions of them (one in a hundred people being an asshole is not really overstating it...) would love to scam the government and don't succeed as much
Yeah, most people don't get lucky.
It's really really not difficult.
And he didn't get to that scale by being good. He got there by starting rich. By knowing the language and cultural values of high-umami homonids, and having a shit ton of daddy's money to do it. Any skill was his father, errol musk, either in exploitation or the use of his dick. Baby Leo's just reaping the rewards, with about the same level of scamminess youd use you get fake food stamps and build a game breaking d&d character from an online guide.
i think that's kind of a dangerous attitude. plenty of nasty fucks have a couple million dollars, every single small-town republican politician and racist car salesman in america would love to do what musk has done. it's not good to underestimate your enemies. on the plus side he is becoming deranged enough to take himself out sometime soon (fingers crossed)
Like i said: he got lucky. Back in the 90s. So it went from a few million to a few hundred million/few billion.
like i said, i agree completely, but he was not the only person with a few million dollars in the 90s
No, and lots of them got lucky.
