This game is going to be 30 years old, still getting updates, and people will look back like "Remember when we didn't even have the ability to open your own store, in a naturally built city, which expands as each user builds their own homes and businesses to support their own local economy?
Yet it’s still going to not have as many features as Sean Murray originally promised.
The game currently has everything that was originally promised and much much more.
I'm not a fan. I played it for free with game pass on launch. It wasn't for me, but I didn't feel too let down. It fell short in many ways, but the core gameplay loop felt promising.
I then played it again about 3-4 years ago. I was wildly overwhelmed with how much was added. The game keeps expanding, and is clearly a passion project.
I'm not sure why you think that it doesn't have as many features currently as originally promised.
The bigger problem is they lost the plot a couple years ago and the game isn't as much fun as it used to be.
I haven’t played in five years or so but I should revisit and see what it’s like.
from what i can remember it's at worst the same as it was at launch, my complaint is just that they've yet to make it more interesting.
like, the most fun i've had in the game is when starting out on a hot planet so i have to actually find shelter in a cave to not overheat, that was interesting.
Then i fix the ship and the game just becomes busywork..
