Just wondering, why do we censor regular ass words, and names now?

certain sites reduce your ability to be seen in the algorithm if you swear and/or use 'forbidden' words -- twitter does this [started doing this? it feels like a musk change, ironically] where if there's a curse word, it's automatically hidden under the 'show more replies' button and usually gets less engagement. it's really sick and weird and puritanical.

oddly, saying hitler doesn't mean i support hitler.

Yeah, considering most of the time that name is typed in a post, it's not to applaud that person.
