Valve really needs to get around to moderating their platform in general. Actively enabling Russian propaganda is really just the tip of the iceberg here.

Saying that something is bad is not an endorsement of something else.

If they forego their "whataboutism" then they'd actually have to stand for something which is against their Weekend Warrior code of honor.

What if it was a war game from Ukraine perspective?

[–] KindnessIsPunk@lemmy.ca 16 points 3 days ago

The unsettling part here is that Russia is the aggressor. If Russia stopped the war tomorrow there would be peace, if Ukraine stopped there wouldn't be a Ukraine.

So propaganda that glorifies Russia's role in war is unsettling.

*disclaimer this is on no way an endorsement of any war time propaganda, simply a philosophical observation.

If it was realistic, both countries campaign would begin with you being a busdriver, kidnapped in broad daylight from behind the wheel and shoved to the front.

Considering that steam is filled with american propaganda for war and the guy was concerned by this one case where the propaganda favors russia kinda sounds like he endorses american propaganda

Even I, a die-hard fan of our Lord and Saviour Gaben, agree.

Stop idolizing billionaires.

What if the russian’s are using it to get scenarios to further attack? Game should be removed immediately.

Much easier for valve to ban the Russian one that most certainly wasn't going to make any money for valve than the money printer that is COD. And it has the perk of never letting then reflect on their own past as part of the war propaganda engine
