My goodness these smell so fucking good. If you see these at your local grocer, do yourself a favor and smell one.
Besides the smell, I have had little success utilizing them for flavor. Candying the rind changed the flavor to a very mild indistinct citrus. I've been waiting for them to come back into season to try making an oleo saccharum. But I don't suspect the oil content to be very high. They few I've experimented with have had a very dry peel.
Honestly their cost isn't worth it. Just get a hit of that smell while browsing produce. That's the best they have to offer.
