A "Showerthought" is a simple term used to describe the thoughts that pop into your head while you're doing everyday things like taking a shower, driving, or just daydreaming. The most popular seem to be lighthearted clever little truths, hidden in daily life.
Here are some examples to inspire your own showerthoughts:
- Both “200” and “160” are 2 minutes in microwave math
- When you’re a kid, you don’t realize you’re also watching your mom and dad grow up.
- More dreams have been destroyed by alarm clocks than anything else
Rules
- All posts must be showerthoughts
- The entire showerthought must be in the title
- No politics
- If your topic is in a grey area, please phrase it to emphasize the fascinating aspects, not the dramatic aspects. You can do this by avoiding overly politicized terms such as "capitalism" and "communism". If you must make comparisons, you can say something is different without saying something is better/worse.
- A good place for politics is c/politicaldiscussion
- Posts must be original/unique
- Adhere to Lemmy's Code of Conduct and the TOS
If you made it this far, showerthoughts is accepting new mods. This community is generally tame so its not a lot of work, but having a few more mods would help reports get addressed a little sooner.
Whats it like to be a mod? Reports just show up as messages in your Lemmy inbox, and if a different mod has already addressed the report, the message goes away and you never worry about it.

I don't need to provide any evidence? You're the one making claims, the burden of proof is on you. Nobody has to do any work to disprove claims YOU'RE making.

Yes, you do need to provide evidence for your claims. I've provided evidence and explained my position, and your position has been fallacies and ad homs. That's not a valid refutation. That you need this explained to you is .... Lol
That's not how fallacies work lol. You have to specifically outline what part of speech is using fallacious arguments. It's not "my" fallacy lol
That's also not how the fallacy fallacy works in argument, because it 1) shows you admit you have argued in bad faith and 2) goes back to arguing in good faith because that is what is considered reasonable, that is, able to be reasoned with, and not nonsense 3) you based your argument on the fallacies themselves, thus making it fallacious
Your conclusions are dependent on the fallacy, you admit it is a fallacy, and you cannot argue in good faith at all. That's known as - you lose. You have no substantial argument.

No, I don't, because I didn't make any claims. I don't need to disprove your conspiracy any more than I need to disprove that some god or another doesn't exist. Don't be so fucking lazy, if you want people to think you're anything more than some idiot on the internet, prove your own theories.
You came back a week later to once again spout barely legible nonsense, probably thinking yourself particularly clever. A notion that is disabused by your seeming inability to understand even the arguments you're making, let alone those of others.
This is Lemmy. Nobody has to engage with you in good faith, nobody has to humor your demands. Nobody has to listen attentively while you spout conspiracy theories. And if you seriously think I "lose" anything by not agreeing with you simply because you desire me to, then it does nothing other than show how lonely and unfulfilling your life is. Until you responded, I had forgotten you even existed. A week from now, I will have forgotten again. You're simply not relevant in any way to me.
