refraining from encouraging IP's directly benefitting her could distract her or even send a message to her potential allies.

I also think that isn't worth it. You're still letting some rich moron's actions have too much sway over your mental health. What you're describing is the most tiny of marginal gains. Her IPs are already dying in relevance. Your energy would be better spent telling people about how cool some other thing is rather than how bad HP is. If someone loves HP and it makes them happy, I see no benefit to raining on their parade.

The thing is - there are millions of other things that you could find enjoyment in that don't actively harm other people.

How about, for example, the plethora of IP that JKR plagiarized to create the HP franchise? Or anything that doesn't have harmful stereotypes of various marginalized peoples? Or one that doesn't degrade women's roles in society by actively mocking main characters, or even passively by only having a grand total of 28 named women characters across over the one million words that make up the series?

Edit: apologies, I misremembered. There are 28 named women characters within the top 100 named character as listed by number of total mentions within the series.

Even if she weren't a bigot, and she didn't use her money to actively harm people using the money she makes, you would still be better off finding some other form of media to enjoy. You don't have to land on one thing and make it your personality for the rest of your life. It's okay to grow as a person especially if you're an adult.

Agreed, so why are you still worrying about Harry Potter (somehow) harming people? It's time to move on from that 90's rhetoric.
