The world is going to be absolutely fucked when the older engineers and techies who built all this modern shit and/or maintain it and still understand it all retire or die off.
That has been likely said multiple times throughout history, yet here we are.
To be fair, we also keep getting closer to being absolutely fucked. Not necessarily for that reason, though.
Well, if you mean closer to extinction then I'd even say that the new generations have no fault there. Yet.
