Irish person here. The British were our Nazis for a very long time.

Churchill was India's Hitler without a doubt.

Glad the resource leech era is over and now it's just tea, crumpets and an unfortunately crumbling economy post Brexit.

Sorry about that old chap. I'm happy that things are better between us for both our sakes.

Things are better. And when you hear Irish people criticise the British, we are mostly referring to the government. In fact, some British citizens abandoned relatively comfortable lives in the empire to fight for Irish independence. Eg, Countess Constance Marievicz. That said, there is still a way to go. All the best to you and yours.

It seems to be a constant regardless of nationality. Many “Irish” Americans have pulled the ladder up behind them too and oppress minorities, support the worst kind of politics etc. Given Irish history (and their claims to that identity) they should know better.
