Is struggling against Wyoming at home more or less embarrassing than struggling against Boston College on the road?
If we lose, more embarrassing. But then the narrative would be that Wyoming is the spooky good G5 team this year.
If we win, not as embarrassing. Boston College almost lost to Holy Cross last week. It shouldn't have even been possible for FSU to play down to that level.
Home vs away, though.
Yeah, margin of victory/defeat matter with respect to that. Home is usually worth +3 points over a neutral site, so any win by 3 or less is de facto ugly.
I've seen enough ugly home wins against mediocre G5 teams (e.g. Tulsa) that I'm kind of numb to them now
Completely agreed. I do think Wyoming are going to shock a team or two this season, even if it isn't us knock on wood.
Honestly, Wyoming is probably significantly better than BC, so I think us Longhorns (if we win) are safe from being the most embarrassing story of the week. Just gotta put some points on the board this drive.
Between this, the BC/FSU game, Georgia mostly phoning it in against SCAR, Bama struggling against USF, and Tennessee getting romped by UF there were a lot of embarrassing games today.
I was thinking the exact same thing. How the fuck does a team almost lose to an opponent that was nearly knocked off by Holy Cross?!
Looks like Colorado is considering adding another embarrassment to the pile.
What's that score?
Looks like it’s tied up again. When I made that post CSU had just run a Colorado fumble back for a TD and was up.
