Herb is pronounced as a proper noun, if it's different from herb as a plant.spoiler
It's usually short for Herbert, pronounced with the initial H. If your instance is anything to go by, a lot of the commonwealth countries say the h in herb, but in the US most dialects drop it and say 'erb.
