In 2016, Kern began seeking crowdfunding for Em-8er, a "spiritual successor" to Firefall. Kern did an interview with YouTuber Upper Echelon in Sept 2024, claiming that about 600K has been raised so far for Em-8er.

This is specifically the part that they are getting his ass on.

I wonder if they saw the absolutely stupid way people shit their pants about Yasuke, and realized there was no winning with these losers.

It’s funny seeing the about face - the controversy over “we don’t have female protagonists because they would be difficult to model” feels like another universe now.
