This is my first post, on my first day here, and it feels pretty good.
It’s kind of a rush picking a username knowing most are still available.
UltraGiGaGigantic2 is still available
Nicknames are per instance so your favourites are always available somewhere.
I know! I hadn't even thought of that until I saw someone's was like "mee" and now I need to get another account. It's like how people get caught off guard when I tell them my 20 year old email is just my name with no numbers or special characters.
Haha it’s great because there’s always another instance where your username will be available.
Or you can choose to be something different on each instance.
I just came over from Reddit too. It took me a day to settle in and understand how federation worked but now it makes total sense to me.

and the best part is that if a name is taken on one instance you can just try another!
