The funny thing is that this wouldn't be a free speech issue in the US either. The WestJet union isn't the government.

That doesn't seem to matter to the right wing snowflakes.

Any time someone tells then to STFU, they always try to claim their freedom of speech is being violated.

They either don't know or don't care what that term actually means.
