Are you by any chance referring to the user who posted stuff like this? (Not from NSQ but they did post there.)
That's so mean! I wish people were nicer about stammers, and speech impediments in general. When I got my first service job, I had a handful of customers like that, and I got a glimpse of how much it affects their daily lives. People got impatient and walked away from customers and hung the phone up on them all the time, they were excluded from everything just because they didn't speak as clearly.
And that's just what I noticed from waiting on customers. If they're friends, why isn't OP empathetic?
I know 🫂 It’s horrible. You should also read their other posts.
Either this is a bot/troll or she is mentally ill with no empathy.
When you say that about her being mentally ill with no empathy, what exactly do you mean? I'm asking because it's easy to draw a lot of different conclusions from that statement, and I'm trying to make fewer assumptions when I don't know people well.
To quote one of their posts directly: "I view people as more tools than anything, and I’m working on being nicer. I say this with 100% honesty, not because I’m being mean. I still feel like I deserve friends, though.". They also post about calling their basketball teammates useless and about hiding behind other players so they aren't actually open to receive passes (but somehow this is a failure of the team's strategy?)
If it's a real person, then I wouldn't necessarily call them malicious but definitely lacking in empathy. But I'm leaning more towards it being a troll.
Well, she herself says she has no empathy for others and “treats them like objects”. I said mentally ill because she seems to have mood dysregulation problems, no one is ever good enough for her, and she seemed to openly have a breakdown when she posted to her one friend about hating that she was autistic or something. (The post has since been deleted).
Thanks for responding, I appreciate it. What you're saying makes sense.
