Wicking beds don't have evap surfaces though. It's a sip, not aquaponics

Good point. Didn't know that about wicking beds. Any easily available info on these? Sounds like something I would like to know more about.

Lots, they're basically raised beds with the bottom 30cm dedicated to a lined reservoir. Very easily scavenged build. https://www.bunnings.com.au/diy-advice/garden/planting-and-growing/how-to-build-a-wicking-bed
