So obviously the original Dexter series peaked with the Trinity killer, even the show knows that.

The rest of the original series has its moments, even the final season has its moments, but ultimately the finale falls a little flat.

I've had time removed and the Lumberjack revival miniseries has its moments. I'll admit there is a lot of giving the show the benefit of the doubt or just accepting "this is happening" moments, but ultimately it was an enjoyable watch. It has holes, but the core is there.

Now, new sin or whatever, the prequel, it's obviously an attempt to keep the franchise alive... But you know... It's got the core, it's there. It's going to have its inconsistencies with the larger world but it's the Dexter you've always known.

If you made it to the Dexter finale, the new stuff is worth it.

I constantly hear "watch the first four season and then quit" parroted all over various forums. The other seasons are still pretty good except for the stupid finale.
