Honestly, I get it. Getting mad about generative AI technology existing gives the same vibes as the people who were mad about Napster existing. Like... sorry friend, cat is out of the bag. We have to learn how to live with it now.

Is that cat out of the bag? The original Napster was much easier than piracy today IMO.

Not really. Back then you would have to buy CDs and rip them. And downloading songs from Napster took hours. Now you can just use any of the stream ripping websites, copy and paste the link to a song/album into it, and it spits it out in a nice zip file in seconds.

Maybe this is bandwidth privilege, but by the time original Napster shut down I could download a song faster than it took to listen to it. At the time I was amazed. I'd be just browsing songs downloading them willy-nilly!
