I just noticed that my account has a "Bot Account" flag. Can someone explain where it comes from and what it involves?

If you are not a bot you shouldn't use the bot flag. Lemmy allows you to filter out all bot posts. So it is possible that by having this flag enabled on your account people have been missing your posts and comments.

I unchecked the setting. Will my previous posts still be hidden for users who disabled bot posts?

On Reddthat, it should be fine now. But across the wider fediverse... maybe? Post updates don't travel well, and honestly I'm not sure if people have tested this type of edits. But moving forward your posts will be fine.

I checked your account and the other post looked like it had a good amount of interaction so I doubt if it would be a problem. At the end of the day most people don't change their settings to exclude bots, as bots are (probably 25%?) the content creators currently.
