Misogyny and racism are two reasons.

The other reason is that democrats aren't really offering anything new and exciting this time around. They are for maybe the middle class and the rich won't like how much money is being 'taken' from them.

Their politics aren't that great either, they are supporting a genocide just as much as republicans would.

It's pretty much just being against strong fascism at this point and that's all they have to run on.

i believe that running on it is what's causing them difficulty: they've dumped their most active base in favor of chasing voters who don't care about facism instead of try to work around the issues that reduce their voter turnout like the republicans do.
