considering Texas has the eighth largest economy in the world but regularly loses control of its basic utility infrastructure and does not offer even emergency health care, texas really is a third-world country inside the US.

The US is largely a third world country anyway, but Texas really checks all the boxes.

Texas isn't landlocked, though, they have a decent sized coast along the Gulf of Mexico.
