Greenhouse gas emissions from Australia’s main electricity grid increased for a third quarter in a row as higher power demand drove more use of black coal and gas plants, the Australian Energy Market Operator says.

I bought an electric motorbike to use instead of a car, my right wing dad bummed me out when he said australia is 70% powered by fossil fuels.

if you charge it at night sure, if you charge it during the day it’s 70% powered by renewables

daylight has been conquered by solar, now we’re moving into battery/hydro/wind to dominate night as well

you can also tell him that electric vehicles are still more efficient even when powered by coal because a petrol engine spends 70% of its energy making a lot of noise and heat, whereas ev’s do the opposite
