I try to build a tower for fuel generators. I could get 4 generators at the bottom running. The fuel is inserted from the top and splitted 2 times to support the 4 generators. But now I would add another 4 generators on top of the existing 4.

But what ever I try, I don't get the fuel pump high enough. According to the height of a generator, the next floor is 4 walls above the current floor. If im right, this is 16 meters and pump mk II should pump 20 meters. But it doesn't work.

Has someone a idea?

you need to place a pump just before you run out of head lift (normal buildings have ~4m I think)

you can see the head lift of the pump itself with the build menu hologram

Hmm i never noticed a visual indicator for the head lift. I can see the blue hologram and some sort of "waves" starting from the pump hologram. Assume, I have build a industrial tank on the bottom, 0 meter's above the ground. From there the pipeline starts straight upwards, for example 20 meter's. Where should I place the first mk II pump? At 3 meter's or later?

Unless you're power starved, just place your first pump near the output, don't waste time trying to save a few meters. After that, the next pump will snap to place where the last pumps headlift runs out. I read somewhere that the indicator won't show if it's more than 100m away horizontally, didn't have to test that situation myself though.

I can confirm it won't indicate the end around 100m away on the horizontal axis; I recently placed a second mk2 pipeline from the area with all the mushroom trees(I've yet to learn the names of each biome) to my grasslands base after the 1.0 update, and could not find the indicator or get it to snap-to on any one spot on the pipeline from far away.

My solution was to look for the last full length of pipe and put the pump there, repeating the process until that stopped happening or I had an opportunity to add vertical piping. It seems to be working.
