Unlike some Lemmy instances, only admins are able to create new communities on adultswim.fan. For those new to Lemmy, "communities" are like subreddits or subforums.

If there is a community that you would like to have created on adultswim.fan, please comment below, and indicate if you would like to be a moderator for that community.

If there is an already existing community that you would like to volunteer to be a moderator for, send me a message.

I don't want to just create a community for every Adult Swim show right away, and have a bunch of empty communities with no activity. Posts about shows that don't have their own dedicated community can always go in !adultswim@adultswim.fan.

Here is a list of communities that I am considering adding to the site if there is interest:

tim and eric, robot chicken, superjail, space ghost, yolo, royal crackers, mike tyson mysteries, hot streets, archer, bobs burgers, family guy, samurai jack, space dandy

adultswim.fan is a Lemmy instance that is part of the Fediverse. It uses an open protocol that allows users from other servers to post and comment here, and users here can subscribe to communities on other servers.

Most other Lemmy instances share content with any compatible server that is not on their blocklist. Currently adultswim.fan is using an "allowlist", and will only connect to servers on that list. There are over 100 instances on our allowlist, and you can view it here. In the future, we may change this policy and federate with all servers by default.

Comment on this post if you would like a server added to adultswim.fan's allowed instances list. This thread can also be used for discussing the pros and cons of allowlist vs blocklist federation, and for voting if the policy should be changed. Also let us know if there's a server you feel should be removed from our allowlist, or preemptively added to the blocklist.

If you'd like to comment on this post but you can't because your instance isn't federated with us yet, you can find this post on beehaw, lemmy.ml, or lemmy.world if you federate with one of those.
