I called 911 after a group of ding dong ditchers banged as hard as they could on my front door, then on my back door. They’ve been ding dong ditching for months, but crossed the line the night it sounded like they were gonna smash through my front door. I called 911, indicating that someone had tried to break into my house, also indicating that I thought I knew who they were, and that they previously ding dong ditched at my house. The dispatcher asked if I wanted to stay on the phone while I waited for the police, and I calmly said that wasn’t necessary. The dispatcher said that the police would take a look first, then make contact with Me. I waited up all night and no police showed up. My understanding was that even if you call 911 by accident, a police officer will respond.

Was I not taken seriously by my local police?

So 10 days ago I got a new car. I had too since my old one broke down for good. It took everything I had on me at the time so I have been broke for 2 weeks. The strawberries and grapes I bought ended up being bad ones.

I have had severe anxiety about the new car. I haven't eaten much in 10 days at all. I think I had soup one night. But all week I know for this week I have been skipping lunches at work to go take a nap in my car. I've been very tired the past several days. I work 12 hour shifts. I haven't had enough money for breakfast and I've been too tired to wake up at 4/4:30am.

I get off work, come home to eat a whole meal (pizza or cereal this week), go to sleep, then spend the rest of the day at work.

I stil feel exhausted. My head hurts. The smell of human waste (I work in a hospital) has my throat feeling stuffy like when you get sick.

I never get sick, so this is new. Does anyone else throat feel stuffy after prolonged exposure to fowl smelling poop? I work with canced patients so nothing that I can catch.

Am I experiencing exhaustion from worrying so much and not eating hardly? I finally get paid tomorrow so I can buy some fruits and veggies.

I know there isn't really any lasting damage if you fart on someone, but it feels like it should be illegal to go up to a stranger and intentionally blast a fart directly on them. I would feel like I had been assaulted if someone did that to me even if I wasn't technically injured. Are there any laws for which you can be arrested for doing so?

I ran into them today in Taco Bell. They said they were discussing the case and that I better not "interfere". I was with some friends and we sat across from them, they left soon afterward. I don't mind if he goes out with her, but i'm a bit worried about the possible repercussions this might have on his handling of the litigation.

Title. Like, if a bunch of plunger-wielding rioters approached lines of cops w/ riot gear and shields, and stuck the plungers on the shields, and played tug of war to steal em?

For some context I (19M) started in the bricklayer field around 4-5 months ago. I've been on the same job for most that time with people coming and going. One thing I've realized is almost everyone is an ass. I'm really new to everything so I ask questions when needed so I don't make mistakes. However, it seems like they don't want to help or if they do get angry when it takes me a little bit of time to be fully confident. I'm a quick learner so it's often just show me once and let me try and I'll get it just fine, but even with extremely small mistakes or questions I always get met with attitude. With this being said they're is a small few that are friendly and helpful but they are outnumbered by the rest.

And just extra information is that I'm a keep to himself kind of guy and am still in college for construction management and wanted to get hands on experience to better understand my job. I dont go around bragging but if anyone ever asks me about what I do or anything along those lines I mention it. With this a lot of the people that know that I am in college make comments about it.

So my question is are people in the trades usually like this or does it have something to do with me personally?

My ex gf did this and I got laughed at for saying it was borderline cheating. Would like to know if I’m off the deep end or not

My wife got her hair fixed after not liking her initial cut and just sent me a picture. Without realizing it at first I thought it was my mom. Then I noticed it was her lol I read her text and even our daughter already told her the same thing. I think she may be mortified. I haven't responded yet what should I say? I liked her hair before this now I'm kinda cringing.

I’m 40 years old and I’m fully aware my generation had stupid idioms that made no sense (off the hook, she’s fly, yo dog… the list goes on). I’m trying to understand the language of my 17 year old daughter. I heard someone get called “cap” and my daughter explained that means they’re a liar, or at least being accused of lying. She had no idea why. WTH does “cap” have to do with lying?

I have always found it odd someone would give their child the exact same name as themselves but add junior to the end of it. Not shaming all calling it odd its just not something i would do.

But i realised i dont think i have ever heard a woman called Jr. Is that a thing or is there a female version like Mr Mrs?

My boyfriend of over a decade and I like to split everything 50/50. It's the way we've always done things, though sometimes I solely pay for more frivolous things, such as takeaway meals or Uber, since he likes to be careful with money (he's from a working class background) and I was raised to be more altruistic (middle class background). He earns more than twice the amount I earn (I'm a freelancer so on a pretty low income), so I was wondering if it's still fair to pay for things 50/50?

ETA: Using the term "altruism" because I'll pay for Ubers and takeaways that both of us use. It's not just me using them. My partner just doesn't like to pay for things like that, but still uses them when I pay.

It's literally just ground beef, cheese, flour tortillas and some sauce. I've never gotten sick from eating it, idk how some people can't digest it

I've been thinking of cosplaying one of the prowlers from spiderverse at some point,, but I'm a bit concerned if its okay for me to cosplay them if I'm not black myself. I just want to make sure if it's okay or not

I can't think of a single, good reason to willingly get addicted to something that's actively killing you

Here’s the context. My wife and I were planning on a adopting a second child. We are capable of our own biological children, but I think that adopting a child that already needs care and love is more ethical than simply adding another human to the world. The agency had us watch a video about interracial adoptive families in which the children were angry that their parents weren’t of their own race and we’re calling them white saviors. This really threw me off because I thought adopting was a good thing to do but the video gave the impression it was bad and that we shouldn’t be white saviors about it. How do I know if I’m a white savior? Is it bad? Is adopting a child of another race bad?

(I feel like this is a really stupid question, so here we are. I have spoke to friends about this but they are all surprised I care at all).

It's not even the unfathomable part to me tbh, it's that most people don't seem to have a problem to walk barefoot on the same floor that they did with their shoes on. As an Asian this is so strange to me.

We hired a freelance photographer that was a FB friend. Wed met in other occasions so were not strangers. He gave us a decent price. Our engagement photo experience was a disaster but I hoped it was just a fluke. Wedding went wonderfully. However it was requested that guests did not take photos and video during the ceremony, so there is very little proof that the day even happened. It has been almost a year of "I'm working on them" and "I'm just very busy, will get them to you asap" etc. Now, he has finally told me that the SD cards are lost. That when he has the money he will pay me back, and IF he finds the cards will send me the raw images. But my trust is gone. I don't think I will ever see the photos or money. And while getting $ back is great and all, it does not detract from my feelings over our photos. Wdid?

I’m in my early 30s and I do not want kids. I like the idea of them, but I know I wouldn’t, realistically, be the kind of mom a kid would deserve.

The problem is that I’m going through that age where baby fever is intense. My body wants me to have kids. Now, I have this heavy fear that I’m making a mistake by not having them.

Can people with kids tell me if you regret having them? Or - if you could do it all over again - you wouldn’t have had kids?

I’m also wondering if there’s anyone in their 40s or older who didn’t want kids, but regret not having them. Or anyone in their 40s or older that are glad they don’t have kids.

Anything insight would be helpful!

I have three little nieces ranging from 7 years old down to the 1 year old.

I see them on holidays only usually.

My sister in law and brother are a little more traditional. Not high strung, but are very particular about how they’re raising their children. So things like them being around tattoos, tobacco, smoking, excessive drinking etc. are very big no-nos.

Usually my nieces will get fixated on my tattoos, asking what it is, then will nonstop start saying she wants a tattoo to her mom for the whole visit. I’ll get the stink eye from sister in law haha

I try to say it’s just marker, but then I get the “why? Why? Why?” From the girls.

Any other suggestions of what I should say so they don’t get obsessive/annoying about it?

So I'm 23 and I see my coworkers going out on vacations for spring break and summer and having a bunch of fun but I just don't understand how they afford it. I'm pretty strict with my money. I try to avoid spending as little on unnecessary things as I can. There's a few small things I like to do. I pay for Spotify every month and I like to get a fountain drink at the gas station after work. But Im saving for a car right now so I never do anything expensive.

I kinda feel like I'm wasting my youth by trying to save as much as I can but I also can't really understand how others manage to spend like 1500 dollars on a Florida spring break trip while staying afloat.

We’re in the tenth grade and he keeps grabbing and slapping my ass almost everyday and whispering disgusting stuff to me. It’s been happening since I transferred to the school 5 months ago and he asked me out but I rejected him. What a loser. I told the principal and coordinators but all they did was suspend him for a day and give him a ‘School restraining order but obviously that’s not working. We’re in a private school and that boy is RICH RICH so they don’t want to expel him. He’s so obsessed with me it’s scary. The principal keeps saying he’ll handle it but nothing is changing. Yesterday he came up behind me when I was at my lockers and grabbed my boobs. 😭😭😭😭 Then he ran away super fast so I can barely react. I just cried at home.

ATP I’m thinking of calling the police while we’re at school and snitching on him… Can I? Should I? It’s gonna be so embarrassing and everyon’s gonna know what he does to me ughhhh. But I think I will
