"It's just always exciting! That amazing moment when twelve tonnes of metal leaves the earth... and no-one knows why!"

"Yes, we do."

"Yeah, but, you know, not really. I mean, we know you need wings, and engines, and a sticky-up bit on the end for some reason, but it's not like we actually know why a plane stays in the air."

"No. No, Arthur, we really do! We- we do, we do know that!"

Historic preservation sites and/or museums that preserve/recreate settings from the past, because I love technology history and immersive experiences.

Actually that reminds me I also love immersive interactive art exhibits such as those by Meow Wolf, Otherworld, and Inter_.

Also escape rooms and other puzzle/adventure rooms because they're interactive.

Also conventions because I'm a nerd. :]

The "I figured it out!" feeling!!! Solving a particularly difficult problem, or the moment when something you've been struggling to understand finally "clicks."

I've been in love, had great food and drinks and been to a few amazing far off places, had great orgasms, enjoyed awesome stories in various forms of media, etc. but nothing compares.

Fixing something you thought was probably going to end up trashed is also a great feeling. I would call it a subcategory of the "I figured it out!" feeling, though.

It's this stuff:

My former boss's wife is Thai and empathized with my hatred of mosquito bites, so she gifted it to me. Apparently it's not uncommon to carry it in your purse over there. I live in the US and have seen it at Asian pharmacies.

Likely any strong herbal extract oil applied under the nose would have the same (I'm assuming mostly psychological) mild stimulating effect. Just make sure whatever it is, it's safe to apply topically.

A tiny vial of peppermint clove oil. I struggle with sleepiness and lack of focus so after I've had an inadvisable amount of caffeine and am still not functional, I dab a bit right under my nostrils to help me wake up and focus a bit better

Also works as mosquito repellent on some species so if I forget bug spray I use some of this instead

LXDE/LXQT because I grew up using potato computers and now I can't stand it if my DE uses more than 2% of my hardware resources

though I am currently using KDE because for fuck knows what reason, Kubuntu is the only prepackaged Linux I've been able to get to boot on my weird Samsung laptop and I haven't bothered to gut KDE and replace it with LXQT yet

that's more likely the deciding factor yeah

Another carved rutabaga for this year

I have tried:
• air drying (takes too long, extends wet hair misery)
• having short hair (can't have short hair at one of my jobs)
• dryer bonnet (somewhat better cuz at least I can sorta multitask)
• sitting in front of box fan (takes too long)
• paying hairdresser to do it (expensive)

Figured I'd see if you guys know any tips and tricks...
