unironically loving the way it gives me a double notification on lemmy

With Tumblr the bugs became features, so its only right for the fediverse version to do the same.

The recent update fixed a lot of issues with interoperability.

What the fuck?

Bot keeps dying, unsure why. Will figure out when I get the chance to. Sorry yall!

It appears that it has federated now, but I do think it is likely due to the version issues. There's a multitude of bugs with lemmy, but due to the nature of federation deletion is always going to be a bit wonky regardless unfortunately. Keeping an eye on the development of lemmy, but the newest update has been a hot mess.

It could be a lemmy federation issue. Can you message which comment it was? Sometimes federation is wonky by nature unfortunately.

I wouldn't recommend that instance, but that's just me.

People will take the harassment off site especially if they are dedicated enough or use it to scrape for potential personal info to publicly release.

There are instances on the fediverse that have harassed people to their deaths before. So....

My matrix is open if you want/are actually interested in doing this in a way that won't make the rest of the fediverse flip shit. I support this tools creation especially for lemmy, but if it isn't done the right way it'll be received poorly. Making it behave differently on lemmy compared to other software as well might be an idea too.

But they are correct. There are vulnerable groups of people who have a harassment risk against them. We share the fediverse with others, be mindful of that. Making a search engine or an archiver for lemmy is such a good idea with how it functions! but for the wider fediverse..... that's just directly contradictory to its culture unless it can be opted in by instance and users

This book was adapted into a film of the same new, and I had never actually seen nor read it until I volunteered to be on a committee to review the book after it was challenged within my local school district.

It's been a year since I read it. The book stuck with me in more ways than one, probably the biggest being the way it so succinctly captured the way trauma manifests as a child. The 20th anniversary edition contains an extra letter that wraps things up to a much more... "happy" ending.

Have you read this or seen the film at all? What are your own thoughts?

Per Wikipedia:

Reasons for censorship include content considered to be anti-family, sexually explicit, and content involving homosexuality, offensive language, drugs and alcohol, nudity, descriptions of masturbation, and suicide.

I will be pulling from the ALA as well as other sources, as well as listing reasons why it was challenged or banned if I can. I've read quite a few, and I have some thoughts.

Seems very interesting, but just a heads up this book is about cancer.

Seems extremely interesting and might pick this up myself, but know that it is about homelessness.

Woah what! Reminder that there are other communities on this instance that you can find via !411@literature.cafe as well as some writing communities!

fingers crossed it worked out well 💀

So, a lot of features are coming next update to help alleviate some of the annoyance of federating with NSFW instances.

For context, I defederated from the NSFW instances because they clutter the absolute FUCK out of /all. I mainly anticipated federating with them in time when it could be hidden from /all, but domain blocks seem to be coming next update at least as well as disabling remote image caching.

Would yall be ok if I refederated? Or should we wait a bit more for community silencing and hiding as well.

A new update was dropped to fix federation admin stuff. Downtime should be very short, but I will be taking a full backup of everything first.

Also, 0.19.0 is on the horizon very soon. This is just a quick fix. The lemmy devs are on a fuckin roll.

Yes, another after the newest one that came out yesterday.
