We will see poverty return to most of America as all social services end and many jobs are lost.

It's already here for many, but I get it... there will be new poor.

All drugs should be legal. Hopefully someday we will be able to vote for a political party that respects our bodily autonomy to put what drugs we want in our own bodies.

But a Blue and Red outlook is a-okay?

Somehow abolishing the broken FPTP voting system [probably not feasible?]

Not feasible? Then why do Alaska and Maine use something other then First Past The Post voting?

How we vote is controlled at the state level, we can push through reform one state at a time!

Ranked. Choice. Voting.

[–] UltraGiGaGigantic@lemm.ee 1 points 1 year ago

That's why we should have Ranked Choice voting. people could give their preference a chance, while still counting their vote against those they don't want in office.

Infighting would imply progressives are at the table.

We are outside in the alley forever talking with the bouncer, telling them that we know the band and should be let in.

A boring dystopia

First Past The Post voting artificially limits the number of viable political parties. This reduces competition in the electoral process. Legacy political parties get to run incredibly weak candidates, and mainstream media can run their bread and circuses about stuff that doesn't impact the 1%s bank accounts.

Like did anyone see what the cops did to us during the George floydd protests? Plus warren VS district of Columbia Supreme Court ruling says cops aren't there to protect us.

We're on our own. I wish we lived in a good place, but that's not where we are. Or ever will be. Because we are here, and we live LIKE THIS.
