Ever heard of Jakob? They're a post-rock trio from New Zealand and they make gorgeous music with shoegaze-like guitar and one of the best drummers I've ever heard. They're one of the best post-rock bands out there and just as good as MONO with a similar sound. If you like Mogwai I imagine you'll like Jakob.

This is their most recent album, and a good starting point since it has the best production of their discography.

It's an excellent album. I love the shoegaze vibes, which are more prominent than the post-rock sounds this time.

This is particularly poignant as an autistic person. Being told to calm down when there's fucking nuclear reaction levels of anxiety going on in your brain is a level of condescension that would set off even the calmest motherfucker on the planet if they could experience this for even 5 fucking seconds.

I'm not a woman, but I can at least partially relate to how awful it is to be told to calm down. Shit suuuuuuuucks.

Sometimes telling someone to "calm down" is actually appropriate, but mostly it's straight up gaslighting. If someone reacts negatively to hearing that, they very likely have a good reason. This meme is misogynistic .

Absolutely! Alltrails just added AI which means I need a new trail app.

Cool. A political message is right at home with their sound. I'm impressed that they're willing to piss off a large portion of their fan base with these lyrics. Right on.

Is it a cover of the Led Zeppelin song of the same name? I used to listen to Five Iron Frenzy in high school when I was still a Christian.

It's cool to hear that they are real Christians who act like Christ would and defend the downtrodden like they're supposed to. I would think that criticism aimed towards conservatives from a famous Christian band would have more impact, not less.

Well, what else are we supposed to do? Our hands are tied. I live in the Seattle metro and for some insane reason we don't have a single retail option for graphics cards. I wasn't able to get one off Newegg on launch day before they were all gone to bots, so my only option was eBay.

I hate enabling scalpers but it was either that or risk paying 47's stupid fucking tariffs. I had a narrow window to skip the tariffs upcharge and I took it. I would rather pay the extra $200 to an asshole scalper than to the federal government so they can spend it on their gestapo.

This flavor of candid admittance from a diplomat is not something I'm used to. I like it.

It's funnier if you look at it as a single photo rather than two.

I agree, but they have no incentive to do so when gamers buy it anyway. People need to vote with their wallets.

Call of Duty sales suggest this isn't happening.

I wasn't suggesting we become violent yet, I was just answering your question. The population is definitely large enough for these protests and a violent revolution if it's ever required.
