I find it fascinating that Roscoe started this reply thread calling out people who come in and demand support at the last moment while insulting and berating people doing the day in and day out work to get people elected that can slow or reverse our nation-wide shift towards authoritarianism.
And ends with the one whining about being expected to work together for a goal calling those doing the work fascists.

I’ve seriously had one terminally online individual inform me that basically yelling at people on Twitter was far more effective than any local organization for a candidate or cause.
Treating them how, by not letting them yell at and verbally accost people who do come back time after time, because that was the original complaint? You think someone who barges in last minute like that is easily swayed as to what’s proven to be effective? You can’t make a long time volunteer out of someone that has no interest or humility about learning what actually works to change things, horses to water and all that…
I’m in the same camp as Roscoe here. There are a bunch of people I disagree with on plenty of topics within democratic and left-leaning spaces who otherwise are doing the lion’s share in all varieties of GOTV, local or federal organizing and elections support activities like being a poll judge. I will have their back all day every day.
Disagreement ain’t an issue, coming in at the 11th hour and expecting me to bend over backwards for their pet thing 100% is.

This is a fantastic book if you like heist books, it’s one I wish I could read again for the first time.
Same. I generally really like Bernie and his politics, I strongly dislike his most fervent supporters and the bare minimum he does to rein them and his surrogates in has left a sour taste in my mouth though. (Also, David Sirota and Briahna Joy Gray can eat a bag of dicks)

I think “Some” is fair, there’s a good number who are all in on authoritarian fascism.
