Early storefronts made it a pain in the ass to get legally purchased mp3s onto anything other than apple products. The easiest way to get legally purchased music on mp3 players was either to own an ipod and purchase on itunes or to rip your own cds.

Yeah, it's financially devastating to cancel tours, especially to small or not-yet-made-it artists.

Hard to take you seriously when you recommend playing the Switch All Stars versions, there's a noticeable slowdown from the emulation.
