Has anyone played it? I’m really looking forward to Hades II but I’m not sure if early access is the move or to be patient.

It's excellent. There's missing art assets (placeholder graphics, especially noticeable with the keepsakes - they're all just gold rings with a single letter pricetag rn), but the gameplay loop is great, the mechanics all appear to be in place and the audio is incredible (just wait until the zone 2 boss fight).

It absolutely feels like a worthy successor to the original. Mel plays very differently than Zag, but the controls are no less tight. God Mode returns if you dislike "git gud".

Playing it on my Steamdeck, and thoroughly enjoying it.

2nd boss music has no right to go that crazy

I was invited to the beta and by the time I went to download it, it was over. Regret not getting to try it out to know if I should buy it. Hades is one of my most played games on Steam but I will probably wait to get it. I prefer buying my games once they are mostly polished.

I'm playing it and so far it's polished. I haven't made it to the first end area but Supergiant has already said that things and story can change throughout the EA. This is very similar to Hades 1 and I feel they are simply refining their EA approach. This seems to be a great way to engage with their customers and let the customers drive the final results.

@ShittyBeatlesFCPres @ylai I put about 8 hours into the tech test and only about 5 hours with early release version but it's already looking and feeling incredible. And there's already a surprising amount of content in the game. Your save will continue to carry over right through the final v1 release.

Playing on PC but just giving a +1 to the other replies. No complaints so far, every bit as enjoyable as the first and I’m perfectly fine experiencing the new stuff as it gets released.

This is the best summary I could come up with:

If you're a game developer I hope you weren't planning to launch soon, as Hades II just sneakily dropped into Early Access on Steam.

Hades II is a rogue-like dungeon crawler in which you'll battle beyond the Underworld of Greek myth using dark sorcery to take on the sinister Titan of Time.

It builds on the best aspects of the award-winning original in an all-new, action-packed, endlessly replayable experience rooted in Greek myth and its deep connections to the dawn of witchcraft.

Even though it's in Early Access it still has more content than the first game including "more environments, foes, and fully-voiced characters" but "key areas, characters, foes, narrative events, and systems are still to come".

I'm currently finally playing through Telltale's The Walking Dead, so I'll put it on my list for after…

Really nice to see it got Steam Deck testing so early-on too, that's a good sign.

Dang it. I was hoping Hades 2 would be a couch coop. It's not even multiplayer. Too bad.
