A classic video from Divinity: Original Sin II is someone using a painting of Bishop Alexandar to beat Bishop Alexandar to death by repeatedly moving it through his hit box. Laurian are geniuses.

Thank you!
I used the bishop to destroy the bishop
The larian special.
I've been running "Ledgemancer". Seriously, you can shove so many things. And the things you can't shove can still be displaced by the illithid powers. Plus Larian are such fans of verticality theres always a ledge close by.
I always feel like I'll miss out on loot that way
Killed the phase-spider matriarch in act 1 with a eldritch blast and because it was dead it was effected by the cantrip and flew off the ledge legitimately wanted to reload that one
Same exact thing g happened to me! Didn't even know own she fell off until I noticed the fight was over in round 2.
Oh yeah you 100% do miss out on loot. I'm doing this in my "Only one party member allowed" playthrough, and it's basically a necessity for killing most bosses if you only have one character at your disposal lol.
Don't you need the loot from that spider to open the spooky book?
No that's only laying in her nest and not on her body
Now I want a halfling barbarian.
And how funny was the hobgoblin boss standing up like "Dafqu?" then getting blown to smithereens lol
What got me was all the dice roll jingles for the saving throws as the barrels exploded.
To a lesser degree this is exactly how I dealt with one of the fights in the Goblin Temple - there's a bridge over the spider pit, and I essentially triggered the fight, retreated across the bridge where my other three characters were waiting with bows in an elevated position, then used my melee characters to prevent him from getting off the bridge.
Then I blew up the bridge. His flaming carcass fell to the spiders below, but alas...he was already dead.
12/10, would do it again.
In the goblin temple doing the drow battle, I came in from above where the only way they could get to me was to climb a ladder and then jump. They had no direct access to me.
I lobbed arrows and spells at them, and anyone brave enough to climb and then make the jump I immediately shoved back down to their death.
It was great.
I like how the game caters to all play styles. Like I've always been drawn to the thief/rogue play style as my main. So in the group setting I've had a blast using her as a scout role too. See where enemies are, find the perfect ambush spot, then send my tank in to either trigger shit and surprise everyone or lure them into my ambush. As I play I feel like that's what the game was designed for.
But then you see all these other players and play styles and realize they catered to everything. They designed encounters to make tons of playstyles viable. That's just outstanding world design.
In Act 2, spoiler warning
The Gith ambush party can be snuck up behind and have an overpass/gateway loaded up with barrels. Killed both of the archers and left the miniboss on 2 health.
Then found out how good "conjure woodland being" is. Free spike growth and entangle for a single 4th level slot. Combine with spore druid to get a spore zombie and a regular zombie.
Once I figured out how to properly use Karlach, she's been impossible to remove from my team. Carrying around her little emotional support cauldron that she uses to beat people to death ❤️
I did pass a bunch of those barrels earlier and I need to go back and get them, but I'm too stingy to ever use things like that bc what if I need them later
Could you give some details on how you use Karlach? I keep her because she does a lot of damage but I admit I just rage and so the same commands over and over mostly.
Rage is the fun bit, it gives you Baseball Barbarian. Smack with club and then 2x Str modifier to Damage and Attack Rolls whenever you pick your and yeet enemies at eachother.
OMG I always forget, I can pick up enemies, lol. I just run around hitting people.
Learning I could yeet enemies at other enemies change Barbarians for me mentally. From "oh great, dumb and mald+bonk" to "Excellent, stupid angry and ready to make this encounter an action movie"
Oh I can't wait to start doing this. Thanks for the inspiration!
That was beautiful
Amazing video in the article. Definitely worth the watch.
