I don't see the job title "Bioinformatician" in the news very often. As someone getting a PhD on Bioinformatics, I love seeing this. My heart stopped at first as I thought there was a major issue with this guy's papers and wanted to check it if I used any of their tools, but he had complaints about subjects used in papers coming out of China. Good work dude!

It really struck me, because I'm a biochemist with a leaning towards bioinformatics, and I hadn't properly considered the impact of this until I read about this effort.

Oh wow, thanks for that link. I wasn't really aware of any of this. I think I usually gloss over the ethics of these studies despite having gone through biomedical data storage ethical training. Glad to read about someone who takes this seriously and fights the good fight.
