That's a whole forearm. Did Thing grow?

[–] WhiskyTangoFoxtrot@lemmy.world 31 points 9 months ago (1 children)

In the original series we often saw Thing's arm when it turned the pages on Lurch's music. It wasn't depicted as being cut off at the wrist until the movie.

God I loved that show, kinda sad it got cancelled so early.

Maybe their original intention was for thing to just be a hand, but they just didn’t have the technology/budget for it.

Also in the original series which hand Thing was varied from scene to scene; sometimes he's a left hand, sometimes he's a right hand.

You didn't get it did you?

[–] lowleveldata@programming.dev 8 points 9 months ago (1 children)

No, I didn't. LEGO kits were never my thing.

So you guys' balls have cleavages? You learn something new every day...

[–] RGB3x3@lemmy.world 6 points 9 months ago

It looks nothing like a penis. I don't understand why people in this thread are saying that.

I think the OP in the post is laughing because of how ridiculous it is for LEGO to just include a hand as a character.

More like one of those hand-shaped dildos

[–] xav@programming.dev 29 points 9 months ago (2 children)

Ok help me there. What am I looking at ?

[–] Batbro@sh.itjust.works 86 points 9 months ago (4 children)

The Adam's family has a character named "The Thing" that's just a sentient hand.

LEGO included a LEGO hand

[–] MadBob@feddit.nl 27 points 9 months ago (1 children)

I understand that much, but I don't get the "I hate my mind" comment. Is it just that it sort of resembles a nob if you squint?

[–] MentalEdge@sopuli.xyz 34 points 9 months ago (3 children)

The flesh color, size and orientation bring to mind a suction cup dildo that a person might sit onto.

But for me what elevates it beyond "haha, penis" and makes it funny is the context of Thing being placed next to Wednesday as if an accessory that comes with the Lego kit. Thereby suggesting a dildo is to Wednesday, what wands are to Harry Potter minifigs.

[–] MadBob@feddit.nl 15 points 9 months ago (3 children)

Isn't Wednesday Addams a child?

[–] shasta@lemm.ee 15 points 9 months ago (1 children)

In the latest rendition, she is a teen played by a 22 year old actress.

[–] jdeath@lemm.ee 2 points 9 months ago

wow! I'm glad they aren't using child actors, would not have guessed she was that old

[–] MentalEdge@sopuli.xyz 5 points 9 months ago
[–] hungryphrog@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 9 months ago

That's why I thought it was pretty fucked up.

[–] Agent641@lemmy.world 6 points 9 months ago (1 children)

My brother in christ, you are the only one thinking that way.

Looks at my votecount. Are you sure?

[–] INHALE_VEGETABLES@aussie.zone 3 points 9 months ago

Take my upvote and get out of here ya freak!

[–] Kusimulkku@lemm.ee 4 points 9 months ago

The flesh color

That is not a typical flesh colour lol

[–] Kolanaki@yiffit.net 24 points 9 months ago (1 children)

To clarify, his name is simply "Thing."

"The Thing" is one of the Fantastic Four.

[–] DocMcStuffin@lemmy.world 11 points 9 months ago

Or a shape shifting alien from a 1980's horror film.

[–] Son_of_dad@lemmy.world 4 points 9 months ago (1 children)

So I've never done a deep dive but thing I would imagine, is the soul of the person surviving inside his hand. So thing is a full human trapped forever in a hand and that's terrifying

[–] CitizenKong@lemmy.world 7 points 9 months ago

That's unclear. It could also be the last member of a race of sentient hands saved by Gomez or something.

[–] xav@programming.dev 2 points 9 months ago

Got it. Thanks !

[–] PwnTra1n@lemmy.world 9 points 9 months ago

Thing is the animated hand in the Adam’s family. The Lego “thing” is a detached Lego hand

[–] citrusface@lemmy.world 21 points 9 months ago

I sure am glad the text in the picture told me this was funny, I wasn't sure what to look at in the zoomed in 2nd picture. I hope OP can breathe now.

[–] gun@lemmy.ml 18 points 9 months ago (1 children)

Knowing Lego these days, I bet this cost $10

[–] CobblerScholar@lemmy.world 2 points 9 months ago

It'd be like 15 and she'd have like a little park bench or something like that to go with it. Legos are expensive but not thaaat expensive

[–] TempermentalAnomaly@lemmy.world 2 points 9 months ago (1 children)

Better than doing a dirty thing on Wednesday.

[–] Tattorack@lemmy.world 4 points 9 months ago

[–] Thcdenton@lemmy.world 4 points 9 months ago
