I don't have a lot of HDD space so I only seed torrents that I download to ratio of 2. Recently I discovered Stremio and torrentio add on. It is nice and l like the simplicity, but isnt it only leeching? I couldn't find anything in settings that would enable seeding. If it is only leeching idk if I want to use it.

Yes, Real Debrid (RD) functions as a leech. However, in essence, RD typically only needs to leech once for widely sought-after content, storing it in a cache for quick access by any RD user.

In the worst case, RD may need to acquire less popular content through a few hit-and-run instances. RD actually contributes to minimizing leeching - if each RD user torrented independently on public trackers without seeding, the situation would be more problematic.

I guess I will just stick to good old "Download in sequential order" and watching it in vlc while it is downloading.

Good to know, thx. I guess I will stick to classical torrenting then.

Yeah you should because it makes the community stronger just make sure you use a VPN or a seedbox. I only use Stremio for my parents since they are not that tech-savy.

My government doesn't care about piracy. I will probably set up Stremio for some family members too. I will put Superflix addon on top and then torrentio. Superflix is pretty good because it doesnt use torrents, but it doesn't have as many sources as torrentio of course, and quality is mostly listed as Auto. But for less tech savy family members it should be fine.

Debrid-link seeds torrents from private trackers

Unless your upload speed is really big, you wont get any meaningful ratio if you are only seeding while watching the movie(in reasonable quality).

I like it because of the convience but yeah it is basically leeching. At the same time, you can only watch stuff on-the-fly when it is seeded healthily say like 70+ seeders. So using stremio doesn't really hurt anyone ig

Pair it with a Real-Debrid subscription,
then it's not leeching,
and with premium speeds ;)
