Sorry for your loss, she looks a very determined individual in the first picture

She was wise beyond her years. Not always the best behaved but always perfect.

Thank you. Hug and kiss your pet extra for me today.

I will pet both my kittens (also named after Gods (of destruction)) ❤️

3 white socks (one got lost in the laundry), a perfect bib and raccoon tail. Thank you.

We lost our Athena 2 years ago now. I have fond memories of her and how it felt like her name got to her head (definitely felt she should be treated like the goddess of wisdom)

My sincere condolences. I lost my 16 year old cat to cancer this year. Try to remember the good times.

[–] thesprongler@lemmy.world 9 points 10 months ago (1 children)

This was a large growth that was likely cancerous in her bowels. Operable but not without great pain. I am focusing on the great times and pictures I have with her.

For what it's worth, I think you made the right call. Knowing when to fight and hold on and when to help them go is the hardest part of having pets.

She had the best life a cat could ask for and you gave that to her.

Thank you for saying that. I told the vet I felt guilty, and she just responded "Don't." You can't ask them to make the decision for you, but hearing that made me feel like I made the best of two terrible decisions.

Remember the good, and bad (all times with pets are good really).

Athena Rules!

Long will she reign in your heart.

Im sorry for your loss OP... I just recently lost my siamese to renal disease. I shared 17 years with her as well. She was my friend and my sister and i will miss her a lot. We will all meet again at the End of time..

I'm so sorry. Most of my cats lived to be 20 but one of them passed very unexpectedly at 9 years due to cancer. You'll heal from this and the good memories will be with you forever.
