I'm pretty new to arch Linux.

Some apps, as well as the file manager, system app and taskbar all have this weird jittery font.

I also noticed that even when I type the same letters, they have inconsistent appearances. Is this normal?

Thanks in advance.

No it is not normal

You might be missing a font package

Try installing gnu-free-fonts package

If it doesn’t solve the issue

You need Cantarell font package if you are using gnome and Noto font package if you are using Kde

I installed gnu-free-fonts, then noto fonts packages but it didn't work

Edit: It works now. Maybe it had to do with these fonts. Thank you!

Do you have font anti-aliasing enabled?

I don't know how, but it works now! I actually turned off anti-aliasing in hopes of fixing it, but I wont dawn on to this for too long.

Thank you very much!

Do you have any xorg-fonts-..... packages installed? If so, just remove them without replacement. A restart of X or at least LO might be necessary.
