WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT SAINZ COME ON MAN

[–] Dmian@lemmy.world 4 points 11 months ago (1 children)

It’s been a couple of races that he’s had abysmal qualis. No idea why. He’s been consistently one or two tenths from Leclerc most of the year. But seems to have lost his form in recent races.

Well, thinking about it, his crashes during free practice may have hindered his qualifying. Less time in practice means worse car setups, and worse results.

Yeah I think so as well. On top of that it wouldn't surprise me if he finds it hard to find the limit again because it made him a bit more cautious.

I saw him say that he had a setup problem with the front wing. He’ll need to give his best and try to pass as much cars as possible (including Lewis) if he wants to help Ferrari take the second place from Mercedes. He’s normally better on race day than on qualifying, so let’s hope he gives us an interesting race. 😊

Yes, actually. Race will be interesting.

Looks like it'll be super exciting. With Norris and Piastri putting themselves in P2 and P3 for now so they could overtake Aston Martin after all.

Norris could get pole, the way he’s driving

He gave it everything, took the risks and paid the price. So hard to drop so mich after that effort, but no doubt he'll be strong in the race tomorrow.

I’m pretty sure he’ll drive a great race. The car looks fast. He was really pissed with his quali, because he’s normally really hard on himself, but he shouldn’t. He should just focus on the race and giving his best. I really hope he can win it. He deserves a win, the way he’s been driving this season.

Yeah, he gambled yesterday, but he had such a good shot that it was worth it. There's no shame in making a mistake when you're right on the ragged edge. I can't wait for Piastri to catch up to his level. Mclaren played a blinder sneaking Pia away from Alpine and keeping Norris as their more experienced driver this season.

[–] Dmian@lemmy.world 2 points 11 months ago

Piastri has a huge potential. I’ve seen Stella say that he reminds him of Alonso. And we should remember that it’s his rookie year. That pair could become a huge one.

No doubt we have one of the most interesting and talented driver generation in a long time. Let’s hope cars are closer next year and we can enjoy these drivers more.

So, it looks like this will be between Norris and Verstappen.

Pity, bad sector 3 for Lando. Great one from Leclerc.
