PL where if you're not owned by a state you actually have to abide by the rules.
Football / Soccer / Calcio / Futebol / Fußball
They'd be fucked if the punishment was doled out last season. This season they've actually been playing a LOT better and with three kinda bad teams promoted(no disrespect) they will likely survive. Don't be surprised if they beat United
Now do Chelsea and City
Not against Everton getting this, am against the sheer double standards at play in football. Everyone are far from the most guilty of dodgy financial dealings in the prem.
People say the FFP doesn't work but here we have proof it does.
The question now is what happens next? Everton are in massive deficit and building a new stadium. Lets say they go down and lose even more money then go bankrupt because of this. Tell me how is that stopping clubs from going bankrupt and not making clubs bankrupt?
FFP is and has always been about stopping clubs catching or keeping up with the top 4 clubs.
Loving the City comments. Can you pass me the salt?
Okay but Man City are right there… lol
YES HAHAHAHAHAHA
European charge is off
Though I understand the immediate comparisons to City, at least in terms of how quickly this happened, I think they're a bit misguided.
City face 115 charges and proving their guilt in all of those charges is paramount and, not to mention, very time consuming.
Now will the Prem actually do anything about City? No,I don't think they will.
What about City? Over a year the breaches against them came out and nothing happens. Are they getting special treatment because they’re the golden child in PL now?
City?
Everton surely can’t be the only clubs. They needs to hire same accountants as Chelsea and Man City.
Meanwhile Manchester City just floats along...
I think they’ve actually gotten away with it.
The standard at the bottom is so low and Everton are actually a decent team this year they should e fine.
Lucky it happened when they’ve got Dyche for a full 38 games and not Lampard
bad day for Everton and Ferrari fans
Not much of a punishment is it.
They do deserve to get punished obviously, but they are also getting punished for not cheating.
Meanwhile 115 charges and blatantly bribing the refs is fine
And for world famous cheats manchester city?
This is a clown show if City and Chelsea are allowed to continue without points deduction.
Would hope man city get dropped to the national league considering their 115 charges and all
If they don't deduct points from City, then this shit is totally rigged.
Wait, wait......wait!
I need to get popcorn.
Man city must be shitting it
I’m all for Everton going down but not like this.
So Everton get 10 points deducted while city have 115 FFP violations and get fuck all?!
This is the second point deduction this year. First was Liverpool.
FFP is dumb and just a tool (that big clubs love btw) to keeps the small clubs small.
The promoted teams are struggling so much I think Everton will be safe but only just. It could give Luton a massive boost which I am personally hoping for as a Lutonian myself #COYH 👒
How does this happen in a couple of months but the City stuff takes years (and we all know will never actually be resolved)? It's like when tax authorities go after regular people filing incorrectly but refuse to do anything about deliberate tax evasion by the rich
This seems to be to set precedent for any future deduction
The corruptness of the PL is in plain sight. A travesty for Everton fans when City and Chelsea benefit with no punishment.
City when?
Ok, but now do ManCity please.
Incoming “charge city!! 115!!! strip their ucl!!! relegate them!!” Comments
Highest points deduction in PL history for an accounting error that might not even be an error depending on what’s allowed to be amortized as a loss and what isn’t. I’m the first one to laugh at the Ev on most days but that’s not on.
Premier league to award the 10 points taken from Everton to Man City just to emphasize the point
Thank u… next
I know that there is a greg at every club right now being told to shred numerous accounting boxes, or to destroy computer memory. I hope none of them pull a trump and take them to their basement bathrooms and showers. Shame on the league they may have started the end of it all for many clubs. The government finally getting what they wanted in terms of an in. And possibly another push for a super league.
Football is corrupt, all world is corrupt. How City doesn't get punished is beyond me. Money talks. What is the point with rules even if money always can bail you out?
So the weird thing is we still don’t know exactly why this happened , Everton are in the bottom 3 for spending in the last 5 years , turns out Everton struggled more than most during lockdown and over spent more than most which is fair . Everton didn’t spend trying to gain a sporting advantage, they spent money keeping things afloat and had one over the top season of spending . When the prem league got involved Everton complied straight away rather than trying to look shady . Sometimes being the peoples club works against you .
an appeal must be heard, and concluded, before the end of the season.
Important, not having to choose between taking the hit now or risking a deduction in a tougher relegation fight next season
Sooo… Man City when?
The odds are good for Everton to survive. Like others have said, there is way more weaker teams below them and they will rise back to 14th place I reckon before Christmas. everton will just use this season as a way to stabilise the ship. If they got a bigger deduction say another 10-15 points, that would of been interesting. But like said, there is weaker teams in the league.
Seems incredibly harsh for something that other clubs are doing as well?
