I'll be honest, I always preferred wired headsets for the convenience, extra functionality on switch, and not having to charge yet another device.

Neither does the PS5 but there's a 3.5mm jack and a built in mic in the controller. Sony's claim is that standard Bluetooth isn't fast enough to stay in sync with the screen and your control inputs, so they have their own bespoke wireless (but not Bluetooth) headset. I'm happy enough with a cheap pair of wired headphones from the supermarket.

To be fair, this is kind of true... Most Bluetooth latency is fucking atrocious.

Yup. Main reason I don't bother with bluetooth mice and use either radio mice with receivers or wired mice over them.

Yeah, music and videos are about the limits of it.

I don't really think this is asshole design, because if they alloed ot people would 100% complain saying the audio is laggy.
